Effects Editing for Android

  1. Adding Music


    1. Tap the Music icon in the toolbar on the right side of your screen. If you do not see this toolbar you are likely in the clip editing screen. Tap “Okay” to exit and then tap Music.

    2. FilmoraGo’s library of royalty free music will appear. Tap the thumbnails of songs to play the song.

    3. Tap “Cancel” in the top right corner of your screen to exit a song preview without selecting it.

    4. When you have found a song you like, tap Okay in the top right corner of the song’s preview screen. The song will be applied to your entire video.

    5. To switch music tracks half way through your video create a separate video with your second song and import it into your project as one clip.


  2. Adding Elements

    1. Tap on a clip to select it. Your clips are represented by round thumbnails at the bottom of your screen.

    2. A toolbar will appear at the bottom of your screen. Select Elements on the toolbar.

    3. A selection of different elements will appear. Tap on them to test them out.

    4. When you have decided on an element tap Okay.


  3. Adding Filters

    1. Tap on a clip to select it. Your clips are represented by round thumbnails at the bottom of your screen.

    2. A toolbar will appear at the bottom of your screen. Select Filters on the toolbar.

    3. A selection of different filters will appear. Tap on them to test them out.

    4. If the Apply All button in the bottom right of your screen is blue with a checkmark your filter will apply to your entire video. If it is grey with an ‘x’ it will only apply to one clip. Tap Apply All to change between these settings.

    5. When you have decided on a filter tap Okay.


  4. Changing or Removing Theme Filters

    1. Apply your desired theme.

    2. Tap on a clip to select it.

    3. A toolbar will appear at the bottom of your screen. Select Filters on the toolbar.

    4. A selection of different filters will appear. Tap on them to switch between them. To remove your filter select None. Make sure the Apply All button in the bottom right of your screen is blue or the filter will only be removed from one clip.

    5. Tap Okay to confirm your choice.


  5. Adding Overlays

    1. Tap on a clip to select it. Your clips are represented by round thumbnails at the bottom of your screen.

    2. A toolbar will appear at the bottom of your screen. Select Overlays on the toolbar.

    3. A selection of different overlays will appear. Tap on them to test them out.

    4. If the Apply All button in the bottom right of your screen is blue with a checkmark your overlay will apply to your entire video. If it is grey with an ‘x’ it will only apply to one clip. Tap “Apply All” to change between these settings.

    5. When you have decided on an overlay tap “Okay”.


  6. Changing or Removing Theme Overlays

    1. Apply your desired theme.

    2. Tap on a clip to select it.

    3. A toolbar will appear at the bottom of your screen. Select Overlays on the toolbar.

    4. A selection of different overlays will appear. Tap on them to switch between them. To remove your Overlay, select “None”. Make sure the Apply All button in the bottom right of your screen is blue or the overlay will only be removed from one clip.

    5. Tap Okay to confirm your choice.


  7. Adding Transitions

    1. Tap the Transitions icon in the toolbar on the right side of your screen. If you do not see this toolbar you are likely in the clip editing screen. Tap Okay to exit and then tap Transitions.

    2. Circles with plus signs will appear between the clips in your timeline, and a menu of different transitions will appear on the left of your screen.  

    3. Tap on the circle between the two clips you want to transition between, then tap on the transition you want to try.

    4. When you are happy with your first transition tap on the next circle and choose a second one. Or, tap where it says Apply All in the bottom right corner of your screen to use the same transition between all of the clips in your video.

    5. When you are happy with your transitions, tap Okay in the top right corner of the screen.
