How To Generate Subtitles Automatically Using
Filmora's Speech-to-Text
Filmora makes it easy to create andcustomize subtitles in just a few steps. Moreover, the automatic subtitle generator feature is available on both computer and mobile devices for optimal convenience.
Step 1. Select Add Captions
Download, install, and open Filmora. On the start-up screen, click Add Captions to begin.
Step 2. Import Your Video
In the Import window, choose the video file you want to add captions to. Once imported, a
feature panel will pop up — confirm your settings to start the Speech-to-Text (STT) process.
Step 3. Let AI Generate Captions Automatically
Our AI Subtitle Generator will automatically detect and transcribe the speech in your
video. You can track the progress directly on the timeline as captions are being generated.
Step 4. Review and Edit Captions
When the transcription is complete, you'll see the full captions aligned with your video
on the timeline. Simply click any caption segment to edit, refine, or style it as needed.
